This report lays bare the profound, multi-layered impact of the cost of living crisis on children’s lives. In this context, over 80% of families said they wanted more academic support for children and young people in their area.
Our strategy for growth 2024-28
By 2028, we aim to reach 1,000 primary school children and employ 160 university students a year, by deepening our delivery within London and expanding across newer areas like the Midlands and Liverpool.
We’re proud to have worked with more community and corporate partners than ever before while deepening our longstanding relationships with housing associations. Huge thanks to everyone who has supported Tutors United!

We’re proud to report on another successful year for Tutors United, providing 800 young people with vital academic and career support to help them thrive from primary to secondary school, and from university to work.
Annual Report 2022-23
This was our biggest year yet! We worked with more families and tutors than ever before, growing our footprint in the Midlands and North West – from Birmingham and Leicester up to Liverpool and Carlisle – and continuing to serve diverse, low-income, multilingual communities.

In a year that saw multiple lockdowns, several rounds of home-schooling, and a year of delivery solely online, we are delighted and proud that Tutors United could provide the much-needed consistency for our families during one of the most difficult years.

Straddling hybrid delivery throughout the academic year, enduring Zoom fatigue and what felt like everlasting periods of social distancing, every staff member, tutor and pupil persevered with smiles, humour, and endless enthusiasm.

It’s been another eventful year at Tutors United, where we have reached the milestone of hiring, training and paying over 250 university students and tutoring over 1,000 pupils since TU began!

This year we had alumni tutors join us as full-time staff in the central team, as we grew our programmes, updated our curriculum and tracked the long-term impact on former pupils for the first time.
