What our tutors say

I was given a law-related work experience opportunity through TU, which was really helpful for my degree and future career. The training sessions have also been great for building skills and confidence.

Tutors United has had a really positive impact. It’s helped me grow both personally and professionally, especially by giving me a chance to work with children and gain useful experience related to my law degree.

Sharmen
Tutor

Seeing the personal development of the students I tutor, it’s incredible to see how much of an impact just one hour can have on their academic and social lives.

TU will continue to have a great impact on my professional and personal journey.

It has made me commit to continue championing accessible education through volunteering and advocacy.

Inara
Tutor

Over the past three years, I’ve tutored at 14 hubs, supported programme delivery and recruitment during my internship, and been part of the pilot S.T.E.A.M. Ahead project.

Tutors United has shown me how powerful our work can be in building both knowledge and confidence. Being part of their mission to close the education gap and improve equity has been truly rewarding.

Want to join the
Tutors United cohort?

Equity and inclusion are central to our ethos at Tutors United. Founded by a young Black man and rooted in our racial justice values, we want our team of staff, trustees, and tutors to reflect the communities we serve. We're proud to be co-led by a Black Chair and queer CEO, with a good record of inclusive recruitment at all levels, but we always strive to do better. To reflect the diversity of the families we work with, we especially encourage applications from Black and Asian undergraduates, and students with experience of educational inequality or from low-income backgrounds.

Want to make a difference in this role? Then we’d love to hear from you. Apply now to join the cohort!
