Graduation with South Liverpool Homes
This week we got to celebrate a magical milestone for both our pupils and Tutors United itself at an amazing Graduation event. Made possible by an incredible partnership between South Liverpool Homes, Merchant Taylors’ Company, and TU, this academic year saw us complete our first in-person programme in the city of Liverpool.
Our Speke-based hub saw 11 primary school pupils tutored, 4 university students hired, trained, and paid as tutors, and over 40 hours of tutoring delivered.
Celebrating our pupils’ achievements has always been a vital part of what we do, and the reason why couldn’t be summed up better than by one of the parents at the event: “My favourite part was when the tutor spoke about my daughter and highlighted her achievements. It was a proud moment to hear such kind and thoughtful words, and even more special when she received her prize. It really showed how much she’s grown.”
A huge thank you to the teams at South Liverpool Homes and Merchant Taylors’ Company for forming such a supportive partnership, to our committed Liverpool-based tutors, and to our guests at the graduation: Mark Chambers and Thomas Hayes from South Liverpool Homes, Liz Van De Waal of the Liverpool Learning Partnership, Alison Houghton-Corfield from the Anthony Walker Foundation, and Madeline Mills of Mott MacDonald.
