Joining Tutors United in May 2025 as a Programme Officer, Arran helped keep our tutoring programmes running smoothly and supported young people to make meaningful academic progress and grow in confidence. He has since moved into the role of Tutor Development Officer, leading Tutors United’s tutor development strategy through our bespoke training programme and by strengthening employer partnerships. 

Arran also oversees our Liverpool programmes and manages the Tutors United Youth Advisory Board, ensuring that great tutoring and meaningful youth voice sit at the heart of our work to tackle the attainment gap.

Arran studied Creative Writing at the University of Essex. After graduating during the pandemic, he began working as an online tutor – an experience that sparked a passion for helping young people reach their full potential. Since then, he’s worked across the charity sector and is committed to using education as a tool for creativity, character-building, and meaningful change in the communities he serves.

Outside of TU, you’ll usually find Arran in the kitchen making fresh pasta from scratch, testing out new recipes, or meeting up with friends for a long walk somewhere outside the city.
